"The Christmas 4 of 2011"
The Christmas 4 of 2011 were surrendered to us on Dec. 28th, 2011. Their owner had been keeping them for years in the bottom of a collapsing barn with no evidence of food or water available. Our farrier estimates that their hooves hadn't been done in over a year and the job likely was not done correctly. The serrated saw marks on Navarone's front feet are a testament to that. All of the ponies had significant parasite infestation as they had been 'wormed with crab apples' under their owners care. One of the mares, Apache, is bred. While both Navarone and Jo-Jo are studs, it is apparent that the sire is Navarone due to his overt stud like behavior and Jo-Jo's lack of it. All the ponies have now underwent quarantine and are improving - some beyond our wildest dreams. Navarone, in particular, astounded us with his physical and mental transformation. Unfortunately, our efforts came to late and Navarone was laid to rest when we could no longer keep him comfortable. Please help us continue to help these ponies live out the remains of their lives in dignified manners in their very own loving adoptive homes. Sylvia and Apache have found theirs and now Jo-Jo remains seeking
